These are two photographs of Boathouse Lane where Forster Brotherton Timber Company once stood. I worked for the company from 1975-1978. I believe it was bought by Magnet and Southern in 1980/81. It is rather sad to see how desolate Boathouse Lane looks these days. Was this also the site for the Imperial Tramway Company, which once operated the tram system throughout the Teesside area?

Sadly probably a bit too late for Boathouse Lane and a pity the survey was not given wider publicity in it’s search for volunteers ? Better late than never though !
