The Riverside Inn had a good Stockton and District League Football Team and won the Durham Minor FA Cup. These photographs show the team and also the owner of the Riverside, Peter and the Team Captain, Dave Rigby.

The Riverside won the Durham Minor Cup twice. The first time was in the mid 80’s and the second in the late 80’s, early 90’s.

This would of been the last Stockton & District League team to win the Durham Minor Cup after Norton C.C.T. & Primrose Hill(twice).Teesside League teams Billingham Synthonia,I.C.I.Cassel,
Fiesta & Stockton Town(the old Head Wrightsons team) won the Durham Trophy(the old Durham Amateur Cup). I see the local teams don’t do very well in these cups now, is the Teesside League not as strong as it used to be?
