The coach in the doorway of one of the buildings may well have belonged to Wilf Ward as I remember him being along there in the late 70’s, early 80’s. Beacon Waste Disposal was somewhere just passed where the white van (possibly a Ford Transit ) is parked.
I aiso think it is the railway bridge, not the A66
That’s the rail bridge, the flyover wasn’t built when this was taken!
Yes , we are looking south towards the Bowesfield Industrial Estate from Thornaby Place possibly even up on the Victoria Bridge itself .
The square office block centre right behind the A66 was the Mcleans Homes headquarters before they moved to Preston Farm .
I used to play among all that filth. Great days.
