ICI Billingham apprentices pose for the photographer at the Belasis Avenue ICI Training Centre, more commonly known as the Engineering School, 1966. The adult trainers are: LH side Frank Sterritt/Bernie McNeil RH side Ralph Hill/Jack Youdale – incidentally, Jack Youdale is the well known local astronomer.
The apprentices include on the: back row: Harry Raffle/Geoff Edwards/Malcolm Hogg/Peter Pallister/Frank Brough. Middle row: Geoff Cowton/Neville Drummond/Harry Knight/Lawrence Manser and kneeling: Paul Simpson/Steven Croft/Kevin Bolland/Peter Robinson/Colin Murray. Can anyone enlighten me on the other names?

Re you saying this is a photo of 1966?. I started as a messenger in 1966, then as an apprentice turner in 1967. I think this photo could be 1968 ?. As I believe the lad 3rd left back row is an old friend of mine Ray Walker and was a year behind me at school and as turners, sadly no longer with us. I also worked with Frank Brough in the machine shop, and can’t see him on this photo. Just querying ?. Fantastic days / years, where have they gone.

That’s my Dad Jack Youdale on the far right.
My dad knew Jack Youdale he is called Frank Bailey.
