ICI Christmas Party c1960s

t13321 t13322 t13323The annual Christmas ICI employees party held above the old Co-op building on Billingham Green / Belasis Avenue was always a well attended event. The photographs date from 1961 – 1963. Children of ICI employees could choose to go either to a Christmas party or a pantomime. These pictures are obviously of young party animals!

  1. I remember the pantomime., we went for many years. I remember being given an orange, and a selection box, and ice cream in the interval.

  2. Days when companies did things for their workers, the ICI Club, Youth Club and the Synthonia Sports Stadium were all part of my growing up. And wasn’t the annual sports day on the cricket ground an event to look forward to! Does any young lad now wear short trousers?
