We believe these photographs were taken outside the Oddfellows Arms on Thornaby Road, Thornaby. Does anyone know what they were celebrating or why they were gathered here? Date unknown.

I think the chap driving the horse is Tommy Booth the milkman and his horse he was much older when he used to deliver milk to grange road he is also on one of the other photos any old lads around who used to deliver with him ?
The boy in all pictures is my brother Donald Birkett, we lived at the Oddfellows for about 10 years. Dads name was Ralph Birkett.
Looks very much like VE Day celebrations at the end of WWII!
