Down this road was the joinery firm of Ferguson’s. An old pal of mine served his time there as an apprentice joiner called Ray Garbutt. Another who worked with him as an apprentice was a lad called Mick, forgetting his surname at the moment. This would be from 1953-58, he remained there after his apprenticeship before going on to Charlie Tenant and becoming one of his foremen.
Could someone confirm this is Moat Street? If so Joan Whiley who had a tripe stall on the market lived there.
