This is a Mid Compressor Casting being turned at the top of four shop, these components were turned on the big roundabout (vertical boring machine) by Norman Bellerby,the late Ernie Johnson, Graham Peevor, Gordon Randall, Dave Bluckert and Paul Kendal. Mike did you forget that your brother Mark also worked at Harkers?
No Anon I didn’t forget Marky Mark but a lot of Dads family worked there over the years including his mother and sister when Harkers had a working canteen. Who else can say that? Mike.
Yes Michael, This culture of nepotism started to cease in the bigger firms in the seventies when they introduced entrant exams. By the way there used to be a lot of families working at the big companies on Teesside.
It’s not a mid compressed it’s an inlet case. I must have machined dozens of them in my time there.
