Looks very different there, a rural market town feel to it
At 1pm. on a cold misty afternoon, the lorries and vans parked upon the relatively empty cobbles seem to out-number the amount of private cars. Of course in these days the roadway formed part of the A19 between Sunderland-Selby and many of the commercial vehicle drivers would often use Yarm as a rest area, or even a fuel stop, as there were actually two filling-stations on the High Street.
