  1. Can anyone please tell me what the half shell is/was for….to me it looks like some bearing shell…but for what? A ships engine maybe?

    • Hi Larry, it was part of a G.E turbine. I’ve uploaded another picture to this site which shows it complete. Spinning blades would be installed throughout the length to create the power. This was a seven series and we also did a bigger 9 series as well as lot’s of other G.E bits. I was told, whether totally true, that once shipped to America the parts were kept outside in a desert environment on shelves until they needed that particular part. Mike
