  1. Does anyone have any information about a George Albert Thomas who used to live in 1 Gilmour street in the 50s/60s. And if he is still alive or if he has passed.

  2. My Dad Sidney Jackson and his siblings were brought up on Gilmour Street number 54 I think. His father and my great Grandfather had a clock shop in Thornaby but I don’t think the road is there any longer. Also my Great Great Great Grand Fathers of 3 generations in the early 1800’s had a Jackson hat shop business in Thornaby, but I’m not sure of road.

  3. The edge of the wall on the left side of the picture is the school yard wall of the boys playground at Westbury Street a Junior School. The building in the picture wad a shop when I was a pupil at the school in the early 60’s.

    • This edge wall was the lane behind Millers place my house was number 5 Gilmour Street I used to watch the cows go to the butcher shop down this lane.
I played here all the time until leaving in 1962 for Australia.
