  1. Hello Gwyneth, its great to see these two photos as on the back row is my brother Alan Taylor 6th boy from the left-hand side of the photo class of 1950. We moved away 1963ish and sadly he died 1966. All 4 of us went to Norton Board Maureen, Christine (myself) and Margaret a year after me. Mr Thompson was a good teacher, his sister taught us 3 girls at William Newton School.

  2. Thank you for providing these photos Gwyneth. Did you know Ann Sheraton (born 1944)? She had red hair and looks rather like the prim and proper looking girl to the right of the sign – to the LEFT as we look at it in the first picture. We were both taught by ‘old’ Mr Thompson. When I was there Mr Thompson said he remembered my Aunty Ann. She went on to become a Head Teacher.

    • Morning Sarah, I certainly know the name of Ann Sheraton, although we were never in the same class, as I am 2/3 years older. All the children in those photos were born somewhere between 1 Sep 1941 and 31 Aug 1942. The girl to the left of Sandra Lees (holding the board) in the first picture is Joyce Knibbs. Sorry not to have been more helpful.
