I am wondering whether this site became the butchers shop and abattoir owned by my grandfather, Alderman Joseph Stoddart. His business/residence was 1 Varo Terrace (1901 census), otherwise 96 Yarm Lane. It was next to Leybourne Terrace, with Woodlands on the other side of the Terrace.
Hi Mary
Can’t help with the picture but would be interested in learning more about Alderman Joseph Stoddart. I have Stoddart ancestry with a branch connection to Stockton on Tees. I have traced back to James Stoddart and Isabella Cheesebrough married at Barnard Castle in 1799.
