Can you name any of the children from Londonderry Road, Stockton c1952? Fourth from the left is Rita Jordan and seventh from the left is Dorothy Jordan.
Does anyone remember Eleanor Jordan ? She is my great Grandmother, Married George Douthwaite , who then had four sons Harry George Jack and Maurice Douthwaite. I have tried to post in here before, but for some reason it wasn’t showing up. I was looking for any information on Harry Douthwaite, (My granddad) as he disappeared completely in the fifties. Anyone with information please be in touch..I have been looking since the early nineties.
hiya i remember mrs Llewellyn from Londonderry Road …when I was a young girl growing up we made friend’s with her grandson such a lovely lad and if I’m correct you will be his mum because I remember him at the time being from Denmark and if I’m correct they called him Stephen…long time now could be wrong with his name but I can just picture him now…he alway’s took us into his grandmothesr back room to see her..this post has brought back so many childhood memories I wonder if he would remember us from way back then..would be nice if he could because us kid’s from that road back in 80’s alway’s looked forward to him visiting x
Well the only face I recognise is Carole Peplow, I don’t remember the other children’s at all but I remember Tommy & Rita Jordan – did you live about number 15 or 13? I remember an Ann Trotter in the street. We lived at number 19 Londonderry Road from about 1950 until 1958/59, next door to the Bells at 21 and old Mrs Benson at 17. I ran a errand for Mrs Benson once and she gave me a farthing! I remember the Peplow’s had a fridge (unusual for the early 50’s!) and they used to hand out home made ice lollies to the children. Ken & Dave Lee at number 7 – yes we had some good times playing in the back street, on the “clay banks”, over on the common and sledging down the bank at the end of Londonderry Road
Great photo Tommy, and nice to hear those names again Gwynneth. I can not help with any other names though, memory not what it used to be. I do remember my brother Dave and I had some great times in Londonderry road it was a lovely place to spend your childhood, lovely area, lovely people.
The boy at the end of the back row is Christopher`s brother. The girl next to Carol whose name I can`t remember was the daughter of a verrrrrrry skilful tailoress and her father looked like the film star, Ronald Coleman. This is senior moment I´ll remember their surname before long!
I think the little boy may be Christopher Smith from number 38 with his mother`s younger sister behind him. I remember you Tommy. I Iived in no 40. How is Dorothy? When I visited my parents from Copenhagen my eldest daughter , Simone, was friends with Alison. I´m sure she would like to hear about her.
The girl next to the little boy whom I think is Christopher Smith is Carol Peplow who lived behind the lamp post at about 29 Londonderry Road, near the Halls and Rosie Ryan.
The tall girl looks like my cousin Sandra Wilson from Hawthorn Road
