Teesside Park Racecourse, 1977

t13847Mr Eric Wilson chairman of the racecourse is seen cutting the first sod ready for the re-building of Teesside Park Racecourse. The re-build was due to the new A66 motorway cutting through the old racecourse.

  1. John, I rember your gardener at Oak Lea, he lived at Letch Lane near Carlton. I imagine he walked to and from work each day which was quite a distance being that the bus route up Junction Road was only to Ashville Avenue in those days. Many a time been chased by him for either retrieving a ball from the estate or climbing on that high wall that surrounded the house and gardens. I lived in Oakwell Road at that time.
