Behind George and Simpson Street. The weird thing about this photograph is that the car in the foreground is a Wartburg and I’m sure this was our own car as the Wartburg was a rare car.
The only person I knew who had a Watburg Knight was Mr (Bull) Wright, English Master at Grangefield Grammar School in the 60s. It was green and it’s exhaust was mainly blue smoke.
My father had a penchant for them over the years we had about 6 or 7 ranging in yellow orange red I think white & green most were the knight but I seem to remember we possibly had 1 or 2 of the estate versions. I remember how it drank oil & petrol each fill it also had a freewheel button haha But seeing as my grandmothers house was mandale road this is why I seem to think its possibly ours just a bit coincidental.. like you say there weren’t many about
