Corner of Bishopton Lane, Stockton c1985

t14086I think that these photos were taken where Norton Road meets the High street and Bishopton Lane. I would estimate the date as being mid to late 1980s. I don’t suppose there is too much left now.

    • I may be wrong, but I think that building used to be a gents tailors, maybe John Collier or something like that.

  1. Anyone remember Dean’s Toy Shop just along from the Leeds? Loads of my Matchbox, Dinky and Corgi Toys came from there.

  2. Everything on the shot of the High street is still there, different businesses, same buildings. On Bishopton Lane, only the Leeds Hotel and the next two properties still exist. Shame about The Station building, looked like a real pub.

  3. The first photo is actually in Bishopton Lane – The Leeds Hotel is still there.
The second photo is looking from Norton Road towards the town. The Globe is still there but has been closed for many years. It is due to be refurbished (maybe).
