  1. My mother and uncle were evacuated to Yarm from Gateshead during WW2. They lived with a family called Wren and remembered them fondly. I remember my mother, now deceased, mentioning Mabel Wren. Were they your relatives I wonder?

  2. Was George Wren, the famous and well respected Stockton Pigeon fancier a relation of yours? Last heard he was breeding top racing birds somewhere along the Stockton back lane to Yarm area?

  3. I’ve just googled this after finding an old glass bottle near Yarm that says “Polo Sauce Cecil Wren and Co Eaglescliffe” very interesting! I wonder what Polo sauce was.

  4. David, do you know what uniform ECW is wearing? I suspect that it may be from the 1880s when he was a captain in the 1st Durham Rifle Volunteers, which was later merged with the Durham Light Infantry?
