  1. Can’t see Frankie Vaughan. Which one is he? When in the area Mr Vaughan stayed with Michael Manning family in Hartburn road, Stockton.

    • Frankie Vaughan is the smooth-looking chap at left. Presumably Mr. Rea is the fellow with the pencil-line moustache second from left. Shopping in M’boro on a Saturday in the 50’s wasn’t complete, without an ice-cream sandwich from Rea’s Creamy Ices, on Linthorpe Road, by Albert Park. It cost 3d., and was 1/2 an inch thick; or if the old man felt generous, you might get a “sixpenny one,” which was a full inch of sweet indulgence.

    • Paul he is 1st on the left. Is the Michael Manning the one I knew at the Richard Hind from 1949-53. He would be 77 now, gingerish hair?
