Photographs taken during the demolition of houses on Hind Street/Alliance Street, Stockton. The demolition took place in January 2007. Now, new houses stand in their place. These old houses were empty for some time before demolition. The photographs were taken from the rear upstairs of a property in Marlborough Road, Oxbridge.

I was a student at Teesside Poly in 1987 and 1 Alliance Street was my rented house. I’ll never forget how friendly the locals were, even when they were ribbing me for my strange, west country accent!
Sad to see the old going out to be replaced by the new. A lot of happy memories for some families will be from here I’m sure. As for the behind Woodlands Medical Centre, they knocked the old ones down, and re-built new terraced houses which look rather nice.
