The Cleveland Flour Mill, June 1970

NT077In the distance the Clevo Flour Mill can be seen at an angle as demolition of this large building is underway in June 1970. Does anyone know where the photograph was taken?

  1. This is taken from the Stockton side of the river, from Moat Street at it’s junction with Brougham Street. The cobbled road in view is the end of Moat Street, behind the fence would be the quayside railway line and sidings and beyond that is the office and buildings of the Empress Works.

You can see this area here (Moat St. just out of the picture bottom left):

  2. That coloured picture looks as if the photographer was standing at the bottom end of Moat Street .There was a footpath that followed the Quay railway line…follow the fence to the right and you reached St John’s Crossing

  3. This photo was taken from the grounds of the old Goods Station in Bridge Road. Bridge Road itself, lies on the other side of the wooden railings that run across the centre of the photo.
