I lived in no 1 Woodlands Street as a kid. Then we moved to Norton in about 1965 when I was 5. I slept in the front bedroom and I remember the lamppost just down the road faintly illuminating my room and casting scary mysterious shadows. The church next door frequently emitted the noises of young musicians of the time practicing which drove my poor mum nuts (Dad was always in the pub so didn’t care). The lady next door used to throw sweets over the wall in the back yard to me in brown paper bags which I enjoyed enormously. Would love to thank her if I knew who she was… happy days
I lived in the street before Woodland, Park Road and I had a mate who lived in the road behind you, Grove Street. I now live in London and when I tell them about all the alleys that linked the streets they don’t know what your talking about. Happy days they were and this website brings back all the good memories
It’s so nice to read all these comments it feels so good that Grove street and woodland street has these rich memories…
We all lived there from 69 till about 1990-1 number 15. The bullets tony and Maureen!!

I know the area and the road, but can’t figure out on the exact location of Woodland Street
Bill
Woodland is just before Grove Street where Bob Green lived.
OK John thanks, hope you are well. Did you get to see JLL at the Palladium?
No Bill, tickets sold out in double quick time I think.
