  1. I guess they never got anyone interested in building the Public House advertised on the sign.

    So I remember there was a Safeway, with a petrol station (where Burger King is now).
    Netto, Texas DIY (closed and became another DIY shop, (or two)) and was demolished to make way for the new road arrangement. The Charley Brown’s auto centre is derelict.
    Gala Bingo, the casino and Burger King seem to be doing well where others have failed.

    Anyone got any other names to add to the list?

    • I seem to remember that originally the sign was for Hintons being the major supermarket going in there, but by the time construction was underway, Hintons had become Presto, which then became Safeway.
