In Finkle Street there was a printers called Bakers where my brother served his apprenticeship in the early 1950s. In the background of this photo you can see Head Wrightsons where I served my apprenticeship in the late 1950s. My brother, Ian, died in 1992 and I now live in Epsom in Surrey but remember Finkle Street with Clinkards on one corner, the Yorkshire Penny Bank on the other and a steep slope that lead to the wharf with cranes, ships and goods trains. So exciting for a boy.
