I agree with Dave. Look at the huge variety of architecture and the Royal Hotel where my sister had her wedding reception in 1953 when I was 11. She died in 2009 aged 80. I want to bring my wife up to Stockton to see the town where I grew up and I am unable to find a hotel in the town centre only the Stockton Arms at Hartburn. Where is the Vane Arms in the High Street? Gone.
It’s called a “Hampton by Hilton” hotel, so with informed expectations, I doubt it will disappoint those who stay there. Lets’s give it a chance, they haven’t even completed the steel framework yet! 🙂
From the look of the empty shops and ‘Sale’ signs was this not just prior to the demolition?
