Photographs of the Billingham Synthonia Stadium, the former home of Billingham Synthonia FC which has stood empty since the club left in 2017 due to unsustainable running and maintenance. Since the club left in 2017 the Stadium has now fallen into a sorry state of disrepair after being targeted by metal thieves and vandals.

I can remember attending an international athletics meeting at the stadium in either the late 1950’s or early 60’s.

It was Great Britain v Belgium and Derek Ibbotson was the star attraction in the mile.

Billingham South Modern School used to have their Sports Day there when I was a kid (about 60 years ago). What a shame it’s in that state. I just remember the previous stadium that was across the road before it was torn down to build the Agricultural Div. Main Offices which, are also gone now. Poor Billingham, many happy memories there and, when I get back to see my old school friends, some great reminiscing.
