The Swales Family in Yarm with their farm horses.
We believe they may have been the same family that owned a butchers on Yarm High Street during the early 1900s. Can anyone confirm this?

Hello, my 93 year old mother was granddaughter of Ernest Swales and as a child use to regularly visit his son Burt Swales at Oxbridge Farm. She also remembers well the butchers and horses of Yarm. Has anyone got any photos for her to reminisce over? Steve

Yes. One of the guys in the picture is likely to be my Great grandfather! Along with the butchers business they also ran what was the Green Tree pub in Yarm, now Osborne.
My grandad owned the butchers in Yarm and his father used horses to deliver the meats around Yarm
