Never though I would see the day when a Thornaby football team would be playing in a higher league than the Stockton football team, but that is progress I suppose on present day positions…

You wouldn’t Ben the photo is before your time 1930, present day Stockton Town are in the Northern Premier League & Thornaby F.C are in the Northern League..

Thought you would spot my deliberate mistake Len. Head Wrightsons Always had a good Teesside League team and matched many more senior teams over the years in the North Riding Senior Cup. matches. I remember playing for them against Scarborough, we lost day but gave a good account of ourselves. I wonder if Warnock was the Scarborough Manager at that time. I can not remember the score, but I bet you you do Len..

Warnock was Scarborough Manager 1986-89, he is only 73, but Nick Barnby who played for the Boro, his father Jeff captained the Scarborough team that day.
