  1. Dennis your posting brings back memories of a great Stockton Company, they were acclaimed Internationally for their Engineering expertise and their development work with all the new material that were being developed at that time ,Metals such as all the various types of Stainless Steels , Monel , Inconel, Hasteloy, Aluminium Clad steels ,Titanium, and others .they were the tops for Steel making Equipment including Blast Furnaces and materials Handling equipment. Petro Chemical Plants, Nuclear Plants they were eventually taken over by Mitsubishi and are now called Prime Metals, after many changes of ownership over the past years and are still operating from the other side of the Tees in the new development there. My Nephew Stephen Brown, Maurice Browns younger son is their recently retired Managing Director an ex pupil of the Ragworth Secondary School, Stockton Polytechnic and Newcastle University. I am obviously very proud of Stephens achievements but his father and Mother are not here to see them. It is nice to see a local boy or girl being so successful in life and I hope this will give some encouragement to all the Local kids at School today that you can achieve your goals if you are prepared to work hard and never give up. His older brother Christopher has also been an outstanding achiever recently retired as the Managing Director of the Large American Company Accenture, Two local Lads doing well. I hope this will encourage local youngsters to achieve their goals in life.

  2. Yes happy days Dennis with inter departmental sports competitions I remember the Braun section winning the football and cricket competitions in very hard won games people like Jack Gilson, Peter Johnson, Geoff Smith, Ray Thomas, Wilf Carr. and others too long ago to remember. A great company to work for and lovely people to work with.

  3. You’re a Teesside Legend, Bennie. I was an apprentice draughtsman when you were in the Estimating Department at Ashmore’s South Works, with Jeff Hardy, and they were very happy days.
