In 1952 ish I was about 10 years old and had to take my younger siblings to the Saturday morning showes to see the Flash Gordon, all the then current cowboy films and cartoons. It was fun and I suppose kept us off the street while mum did the grocery shopping for Sunday roast etc. We lived in Dovecot Street so it was not very far for us.
