This engraving appears in Fisher’s Drawing Room Scrap Book 1838, with an illustrative poem. However, the artist and engraver are unclear. Does anyone have these details, please?
Does anybody know which part of the River Wear that the angler in the picture is fishing.
I am a member of Bishop Auckland and District Angling club and fish regulary in the Croxdale area.
I have been a member since the 1980s and have to say it is one of the beat sea-trout rivers in England. If I had to name an area where the picture was taken I would say its above the railway viaduct at Croxdale near Sunderland Road bridge.
