A colour tinted view of Market Day on the High Street, Stockton. Traders vans are parked up behind the market stalls while people are seen getting on and off the buses. Lindsay House and the Parish Church can be seen in the background.
now that was a market worth going to !!!!!! Marshes Biscuit Stall and Holliss sweet stall to name a few all the way down the middle of that wide Beautiful High Street .Sellers and shoppers came from far and wide with fresh foods ,vegetables and flowers . It has certainly changed over the years and i for one don’t think for the better, i mean the High Street, reminds me of Joni Mitchells song The big Yellow Taxi (they paved Paradise to put up a parking Lot)
I dont think its tinted, they did have colour photography in the 60’s early 70’s…
