  1. Shame the Arms has gone. Does anyone remember Fri, Sat and Mon night discos in the fessie bar? Mondays were the best, 60s and 70s and ‘who sang it’ and ‘what was the year’?

  2. Did anybody start a campaign against the demolition of the Billingham Arms? and can it now be stopped? I knew the pub was up for sale but not that it was being demolished. It is a very great shame and I am sure would have been able to be renovated. Much better that another aldi store . Yes the store will bring jobs but so would the reopening of the pub and isnt it better to have something unique to billingham instead of just another supermarket the same as any other town we visit. Modernising the town centre is all well and good but why do we
have to get rid of our heritage / the things that make us different in the process. Perhaps we should be holding on to the things that make Billingham Billingham. Does anybody feel the same and like I said at the beginning was there ever a campaign launched and what happened?

  3. Billingham Arms T160. Some of the bar fittings are from Newcastle shipyard storage when White-Star liner ‘Britanic’ was turned into a hospital ship during 1914-1918 war. She was sunk during the Gallipoli Campaign 1915.
