It was part of the Riverside festival celebration in 2002. Other buildings had chairs on them with people sitting on them throughout the day, it certainly made people look twice. I seem to remember it was the work of some German street entertainers.
Jen Graves – Sorry this is so late but the chair is there almost certainly during the Riverside Festival when people did strange things – like dressing as statues and as this chair would have someone sitting on it – yes it looks weird – but it would certainly have attracted attention at the time!
