  1. There are a number of strange grid-like structures on top of the houses over to the left. Is it possible, given that these houses were taken over by the police, that this was some some sort of central telegraph or telphone office?

  2. The cut that was at the end of church road that went under the bridge to portrack was dug by hand by german prisoners of war who were held at a pow camp on what is now Tescos near the horse and jockey

  3. It is now 2007 and Church Road has not changed a lot but the people have. The little building on the left is now the Castle and Anchor public house but as shown in the picture it was a medical centre were people grew herbs and practiced medicines. It is also supposed to be haunted by the people from the church yard as the buildings on the left of the picture were built on top of the grave yard.
