I”m afraid that I don”t as yet know anything about the Dobson family. If Leslie Dunn is still aound, he might be able to shine some light on this question.
We have an Ann Furness in our family tree from c1761 which brought me to this site. Later in our history we have a Margaret Dobson, from Darlington, b. 25.7.1823 who married William Atkinson Furness 25.3.1844. We would be very interestd to hear if Margaret is related to Hugh or Joseph in any way.
I am the granddaughter of Desire Vane (formerly Van Styvoort, born in Belgium)who married Edith Burton. Theresa Dobson was his sister-in-law(Burton was her surname), not his daughter (although to confuse matters, his daughter was also Theresa). Theresa Vane married Harold Webster and also lived in Darlington. Any further information would be much appreciated.
“Alfred DOBSON born 1882 at Stockton on Tees – brother of my wife’s maternal grandfather, Joseph DOBSON 1869-1952(born Darlington), son of Hugh Dobson (1842-1896) and his wife, Ann Furness (1844-1905), is now known to have married Thersa (Tessa) VANE, the daughter of this High Street Confectioner. Alfred and Tessa after marriage lived at Darlington and traded there as A & T DOBSON (Confectioners) at 24 Skinnergate, in the Town Centre area. Does anyone know more regarding this couple?”.
Looking for photos of Infant school St Patrick’s near Eldon Street Thornaby I think it was on Cranworth Street, Thornaby
Hi Does anyone know anything about employees at this establishment? My grandfather was a pastry chef in Stockton c1924. His name was Harry Carter.
Is it possible that Alfred Dobson is the s/o Hugh & Ann Dobson? Because Joseph Dobson is on the 1901 census as still at home, unmarried,
