  1. I worked at Powergas from 1963 till 1968 when I left to get married. I also, like Ann Dove, started in the Post Room with Miss Flintoft and then moved to the Photocopying Dept with Ann Gardner and Shirley Mitchell. Photocopying then amalgamated with the Print Room with Myra Wilkinson in charge. Happy Days.

  2. A new rail connection was made through the embankment on the right just past Bowesfield signal box to South Works and the Metro-Vickers/Beyer Peacock Locomotive Works in the early 1950s.

  3. I worked at Ashmore Benson & Pease back in the mid to late fifties, I worked in the post room with Miss Flintoft who was the head, and then moved to Planning Dept. where Mr Lennie was the head. My Grandfather worked there for many years at the South Site. Nice to see the photograph.

  4. I was an apprentice here, one of the first group to go into the new training school. I left to join the royal engineers and now live in Kent.
