A mobile library van used by Cleveland County Libraries for carrying books and information to rural areas.
I remember Tom very well. He was a lovely man. He drove the mobile library to Stillington in the early 70’s and his visit was the highlight of the week for my toddler son and me. We spent ages browsing and choosing which books to borrow. Tom was always patient and we never felt we had to rush. Fond memories!
My dad, Ian Whitehouse worked for Cleveland County Libraries for many years as a mobile library van driver. He drove this particular vehicle on a number of occasions, but at the time I believe the regular driver of this van was call Tom. Can’t remember his surname!
