  1. Between Pickford”s Travel and Sankey Robson is the original RAF Club. I do remember the Propeller Blade and the Clock. Then it moved to Park Terrace, now The Wobbly Goblin.

    • Yes, I remember the RAF Club and the man who used to stand outside Debenhams with an organ and a monkey collecting money for the RAF.

      • Dad used to take us there on a Saturday for a Pepsi. I remember the organ grinder when he stood on the corner of Dovecot St. My dad had helped pick the monkey up one year and got a bite for his trouble. Nasty!
