Surely this engraving must have been made in the 16th or even 17th Century? What it is showing is houses which may have been constructed in the 14th century, but even these have the modern feature of having proper chimney pots.
North and South Gare – Rather like the north south divide of fish and chips, well that is how I see it, now when it is coming out of my packet, not when you were kids, not a care in the world, if you got it then all was fine what was money anyway. Much rather go to the north for them they are cheaper and bigger portions than the south. But I suppose you cant beat British West Hartlepool, last year down there in Middleton Grange with the wife, as you do, went in to a sit down fish and chip shop, waitress service and all that. The waitress puzzlingly took the order, x1 Haddock +….. and x1 Cod +….. , she was away for a long time and when she came back to the table she looked worried and said the message from the boss is we only do fish and chips, theres always one to cheer up your day.
