    • If my memory serves me correctly the property which used to stand on the site of Woodside Grove was called ‘Norton House’.

  1. I am only 15 but I can recognise the whole area and it looks kind of similar and the paths I take to school are the same too!

  2. I was 6 when this picture was taken. We lived at 84 Harlsey Rd. 84 was 2 in from the left hand entry of Harlsey Crescent. My uncle Bob Moore lived at 92 Harlsey Road which is just on the corner of Harlsey road and Harlsey Crescent. My Aunt Vera Walton lived at 12 harlsey Crescent. I think they all bought these houses from new in the mid-fifties. The family originally lived and was brought up in Hume Street behind the high street. We spent many hours cycling round the crescent and playing in the fields behind Harlsey Road. We eventually moved away to South Wales in 1969 as my father was in the transport business. He worked for Smith and Robinsons on Yarm Rd and then Hargreaves tankers. I am researching the Moore and Dennison family history and would appreciate any memories associated with these families mooremacaw@aol.com

  3. The crescent in the centre of the picture is Harlsey Grove, surrounded by Harlsey Crescent on three sides and part of Harlsey Road on the fourth side. My parents house is at the junction of Harlsey Cresecent and Harlsey Grove. The road running from east to west in the centre of the picture is Darlington Road and the land to the north of Darlington Road is new Hartburn.
