Angie Watson – Are you connected with Jessie Watson, she was connected with a farming family and she lived somewhere near Norton Green until the 1980″s?
Hi Angie. The Glebe Farm Norton. Access was gained to this Farm from Parsons Walk Ragworth Place. The walk started between No. 10 and 11. The Farm was directly behind No 10. The last Tenant was Jack Lumley. The Farm and Paddock are now the annex of the Red House School and is for the Primary and Juniors. Another way of describing its whereabouts is: looking and facing the Church on the Green there is a 6ft high wall to the left. Behind this wall was the Paddock to the Farm.
My family lived at a glebe farm in norton around 1880″s, does anyone know if this is the same one?
Prior to the Dixons owning Glebe Farm, it was owned by the Johnson family. Are there any photographs available of the Johnson working the farm? The last owner of the farm was Blackburn Johnson who died in 1895, I believe his widow did not stay there very long after his death.
