I can just to say remember the fence around the church. There was a small graveyard, but the gravestones have now been moved to the wall behind the church. Janet, there is also St Paul’s church on Thornaby Road, which was built in 1858 (I think), so your gt grandparents may have been married there.
My G.Grandparents, were married in the Parish Church Thornaby in July 1895. Can anyone please tell me if this is the church that was the Parish Church in 1895?
Yes it is. I”m not sure when it was taken as I don”t remember the pond – it must have been filled in from around 1975 onwards when I was born. The gate and the fence are also no longer there.
