I have just aquired a large copper Stockton penny token dated 1813. It has britannia on one side and a picture of the bridge across the tees on the other which I thought was victoria bridge. I now realise that because of the date it must be the old stone bridge. I couldnt figure out why the bridge on the coin has five arches with water flowing under all of them and victoria bridge I think only has three. Now I know. The same coin can be seen on this site – http://www.picturestockton.co.uk/viewpage.aspx?id=90181
