  1. I was there that day and this was the biggest game in the club’s history. Colne were a professional football club playing in non league. They totally controlled the game from the moment they kicked-off and I felt sorry for some of the Stockton lads who seemed overawed by the occasion. It was the biggest crowd I ever saw at Teesdale Park in Thornaby.

  2. This game was the F.A. Trophy game played in season 1989-90, which Stockton were beaten 5-0 but this was no disgrace because Colne Dynamoes were knocked out of the semi-final by Barrow who went on to win the trophy at Wembley. That season Colne Dynamoes were the Northern Premier League Champions with players such as Alan Kennedy ex Liverpool & Newcastle United full back and numerous ex Football League players & others that went on to play in the Football League. Colne were refused promotion to the Football Conference and folded in the summer of 1990. Millionaire chairman/manager Graham White formed the club in 1963 & was with them all the time, they won the F.A.Vase at Wembley in the 1987-88 season.
