These buildings were demolished in 1968 to make make way for the Castlegate Shopping Centre. The car looks like an old Ford “Pop” and was probably at the end of its life when this photograph was taken. The Casltegate building was opened in 1972. During the late 50″s and early 60″s this area was still a working port.
I”m a bit mystified by the photo shown. Surely this must of been earlier, judging by the cars. I reckon on late 50″s/early 60″s and not 1970 as stated. Can anyone throw some light on this.
