The two cooling towers in the picture belonged to the LP Ammonia plants (one on the left) and the No2 Methanol plant, both still stand there today but unused, the LP Ammonia plants ceased production shortly after this picture was taken and were demolished in 1999, the Methanol plant shut down in 2001 but still stands in a ‘mothballed’ state and has been the subject of a couple of studies to overhaul and restart it but these have come to nothing.
