Andrew O’neill – sorry I’ve just noticed this due to researching ‘the Cherry Fair’ but I think the photo is from 1920 when the Cherry Fair was popular. It was held for many years apparently and dates back to 18th Century. I can only assume that ‘Cherry Lane’ was named after it… Now long gone. 🙂 I borrowed a very good book ‘A Pictorial History of Stockton-on-Tees’ from the library. (by Robert Woodhouse).
