Hodgsons Yard were the flea market is held in Stockton.
I’m looking into my family history and my great grandparents lived at number 4 Hodgsons Yard from April 1908 until at least the 1911 census date.
I’m looking into my family history and my great grandparents lived at number 4 Hodgsons Yard from about 1908 to at least 1911 according to the census.
On the right hand side of the picture,was a row of terraced cottages. One up and one down. I knew every one who lived there. On the left hand side of the picture,was a communal water tap. Here you got your water for drinking or bathing. On the same side, was where they had the rubbish bins. This was one of the areas where Dr. Mc”gonnigle started his slum clearance. The residents were moved to Blue-hall. A few of the Hungry twelve lived here. They were the Dockers I have spoken of before.
