  1. I can remember most of the names so here goes,–Back Row,Bob Smith,Cocky Weatherall,Stew Bruce,Harry Diamond,Les Dunning,Billy Ellis,Lenny Sewell,Fron Row,Unknown,Geoff Carrigon,Alf Thomas,a very young Stan Denham,Unknown. You are right Granville about the age difference,Stan was the youngest with Bob,Billy and Lenny a year older with the rest of the team a year older.Stan played every year he could while at school,a very clever footballer.I also agree that Alec Wells was a great player.

  2. I think this is a case of if you are good enough you are old enough Gran, regarding Lenny Sewell & Stan Denham, elsewhere on the site is a photo of Benny Brown a first year pupil in the Newham Grange School senior team.

  3. Sue,
I would just like to offer the same comments about your Dad as Benny Brown did some time ago,we all worked together at Stockton Forge in the fifties.
The photo shows Cocky Weatherall on your Dads right, Geoff Carrigan and Tot Thomas second and third left on front row all who were in Stockton Boys team which lost to Leicester.
The rest of the lads on this photo seem to be a mixture of age groups,as I am sure that that is Stan Denham sat with Shield, who would have been in first year in 1946. I also think that is Lenny Sewell on far right who was in a different age group again
Ken Rhodes should be able to verify this.
I notice you mention A.Wells as a reserve for Stockton Boys, I think this would be Alec Wells of Mill lane who tragically lost his life in a road accident during National Service in the Midlands. He was a great player and I think he was on Wolves books

  4. The back row third from left is my dad Stuart Bruce he played for Richard Hind and was Captain for Stockton Boys Fc
